Here’s the process:

We hand pick our arnica flowers in the mountains of Oregon and Idaho at their prime. Because of this, they have been tested for a high level of potency.

Then these Arnica Flowers as well as other organic herbs including, White Willow Bark, Calendula, Yucca and Mullein are steeped in soothing oils over a period of several months.

At last the oil is infused with organic therapeutic grade essential oils that act as “drivers” to penetrate inflamed tissues and speed healing on location.

So what is arnica? Arnica is a high mountain meadow plant well known and documented in Germany and many parts of the world for its quick healing abilities. (The German nickname for it means “stand up and walk home.”)2012-06-16_15-48-59_91

The active compound in it is helenalin which helps constrict blood vessels and decreases inflammation and bruising from blunt injuries.

It is actually arnica cordifolia which is harvested in our neck of the woods. This is believed to have even more of the active property, helenalin, than the Arnica Montana commonly known.

How is it used? Arnica is used in external applications for muscle pain and inflammation. It can help ease acute discomfort in back, shoulders, neck, leg cramps, and injury pain.

It is also good for sprains and strained or over worked muscles. It helps relieve the pressure, pain and swelling of injuries on location. The earlier after injury that it can be applied the better. Think of it as your ice pack. It is recommended that it not be used internally, or on open wounds or broken skin.

Arnica is also known to help with osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis. in fact, it can be effectively used for any stiffness which has inflammation involved.
